Dr Eisenberg is the Head of Department and current Supervisor of Surgical Training for ENT, Head and Neck Surgery in the Hunter-New England region. He has extensive experience in successful surgeries for hearing and diseases of the ear.
Dr Eisenberg is an expert across a broad spectrum of surgical interests ranging from cochlear implantation, otology and skull base surgery to thyroid and parathyroid surgery, rhinoplasty, and head and neck cancer reconstruction.
He has been instrumental in establishing a Microvascular Head and Neck Reconstructive Unit in the Hunter region, enabling surgery for patients with more extensive cancers. As previous Department Head of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, he drove expansion of decentralised services to the Hunter-New England region and development of the Newcastle Head and Neck multidisciplinary team and clinic. Dr Eisenberg established the HNE Skull Base Tumour Board which he currently chairs.
In 2011, Dr Eisenberg instigated the HANCS Club (Head and Neck Cancer Social Club) which is the first club of its kind, empowering head and neck cancer patients to take control and move on with their lives after treatment.
