Course Information
This presentation focuses on interprofessional collaboration and support in early childhood education. The presentation will first explore strategies for educators to support child belonging in the program, and then discuss the demands on educators when working in challenging situations and provide resources to support personal wellbeing. Advice learned from studies conducted in Finnish Early Childhood Education Centres will be shared.

Assistant Professor Mari Saha
Dr. Mari Saha is an assistant professor of early childhood education at the Faculty of Education and Culture, Tampere University. Her main research interests are diverse needs, children’s stress regulation and wellbeing as well as early childhood professionals’ occupational well-being in ECE settings.

Associate Professor Henri Pesonen
Dr. Henri Pesonen is an Associate Professor of special education in the Department of Special Needs Education, University of Oslo. Henri’s research focuses on examining necessary support for ensuring inclusion and belonging for learners with special needs in education and society. His research addresses particularly individual support needs of learners with autism. His recent autism research has focused, for example, on autistic children and their belonging in early childhood education, and autistic adults’ belonging experiences in higher education.
