NextSense, or persons authorised by the NextSense, collecting personal information about me and/or my child.

The Personal Information collected may include photographic or video images, audio recordings or recordings in other electronic media of me and/or my child (The Personal Information).

Persons authorised by NextSense to collect The Personal Information at the event may be a journalist, employee of NextSense, professional photographer or sound recordist.

NextSense may collect, use and disclose The Personal Information for the following purposes:

• Fundraising for NextSense, eg. Thank you for your support videos and Merry Christmas videos.
• Publicising the work and services of NextSense.
• Communicating with the NextSense school community.
• NextSense Institute promotion including educational resource and training materials for staff and other professionals working in the field.

The Personal Information may be used and disclosed on the NextSense website (including the short courses website), its social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, twitter, Instagram), print publications
including annual reports and promotional materials (such as fundraising materials, corporate sponsors, programs and services brochures, newsletters, wall decals and signage) in presentations, webinars and videos (for the purpose of education and
training) and in the local and national media (e.g. newspapers, television and radio).

Before using or disclosing The Personal Information, NextSense will take reasonable steps to ensure The Personal Information is:

a. Represented or published in a manner that is accurate, positive and appropriate.
b. Only provided to appropriately authorised media or publicity personnel.
c. The collection and publication of The Personal Information does not interfere with the operations of the school or its programs and will not put any child’s well-being at risk.

I will not hold NextSense responsible or liable for the use or disclosure of The Personal Information by third parties such as the media.

I have no copyright or other rights in media or any reproductions or adaptations of them and to the extent permitted by law, waive any such rights.

I will not claim any payment or other benefit for the use or disclosure of The Personal Information.

The Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children is a body corporate pursuant to the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children Act 1998 (NSW). You can access the NextSense’s privacy policy for more information. We collect, use and disclose your personal information for the purpose of providing our services to you and the NextSense school community, fundraising for NextSense and promoting the work of NextSense. This may include providing your personal information to the media to promote our services and to service providers to NextSense such as those providing marketing-related services, professional photographers, and sound recordists.

If we do not collect your personal information, that may restrict our ability to provide and promote our services. In general, we do not disclose personal information to an overseas recipient. We do, however, operate several services internationally, such as in Samoa, Fiji, Dubai, India, Singapore and Timor. If your child is enrolled in a program in one of those places it is likely that personal information we hold here, in Australia, will be sent back to that place or, in some cases, to other overseas places where we judge it to be in the interests of the individual.
